Charlene LePane, DO, MBA, MSPH, FACG, FACOI, FASGE
Dr. Charlene LePane has been in the hospital setting, caring for patients for over 30 years, first as a high school hospital volunteer at the former Florida Hospital Orlando, then as a nurse, and eventually as a physician. She earned her bachelor of science degree at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, in 1998. She earned her Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1999. Dr. LePane graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2004. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida, where she served as Chief Resident. She subsequently served as Chief Fellow during her Gastroenterology fellowship at St. John Oakland-Macomb Hospital in Michigan. In May 2024, Dr. LePane completed her MBA in Health Service Administration at Barry University in Miami, Florida. She has a particular interest in Health Care Informatics. She is dual board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. LePane is an AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) gastroenterologist and serves the Central Florida Division as a Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). Her role as a CMIO provides her with an incredible sense of fulfillment as she leverages technology to improve provider satisfaction and patient outcomes. Prior to her appointment with AHMG, Dr. LePane served the greater Orlando area as a gastroenterologist at the Orlando VA Medical Center and as a community gastroenterologist in a private practice. She has been practicing internal medicine since 2004 and gastroenterology since 2008.
Dr. LePane has served as District 3 Florida Osteopathic Medical Association President and continues to serve as an alternate delegate for her region to the FOMA. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the American College of Osteopathic Internists. She is a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. LePane was recently nominated as a Board member for the Kansas City University Alumni Association and is eager to give back to what was given to her during her journey.
Dr. LePane enjoys running marathons, volunteering for local charities, traveling, and spending time with her wife and family in her spare time.
