Jared Nichols

Jared Nichols, DO

Dr. Jared Nichols is a physician specializing in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, and Addiction Medicine. He also holds a certificate in Integrative Medicine. Dr. Nichols works at Access Family Care, a local FQHC in Joplin, Missouri, where he focuses on non-opioid pain management and provides holistic, patient-centered care for individuals with musculoskeletal pain and various addictions. His treatments include OMT, acupuncture, diagnostic injections, and health coaching. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Nichols is an Associate Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Kansas City University—Joplin Campus. He directs the undergraduate OMM fellowship, conducts research, and teaches OMT and primary care skills to first- and second-year medical students.

Dr. Nichols completed his Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 2014 from A.T. Still University—Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. He then completed his Family Medicine and OMT residency at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, Missouri, in 2017, and a post-graduate fellowship in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth, Texas, in 2019. In 2024, he completed his board certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Nichols is also board-certified in Family Medicine and OMT by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. Dr. Nichols’s diverse experiences include working in emergency rooms, nursing homes, opioid clinics, and lecturing for student board preparation.

A self-proclaimed “Missourian for life,” Dr. Nichols lives in Joplin with his wife, Jourdan, and their four daughters. In his free time, he enjoys teaching and has interests in voice manipulation, regenerative medicine, exercise, and pinball.
