Terra Frazier, D.O., FAAP

Dr. Terra Frazier is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Childhood Adversity and Resilience at Children’s Mercy Hospital University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. She also serves as Associate Fellowship Program Director. She works full-time in the field of Child Abuse Pediatrics in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Frazier completed medical school at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She completed her residency in Pediatrics and her fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Frazier is board-certified in General Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Frazier serves on many different multi-disciplinary teams related to child protection in Kansas and Missouri, as well as the Missouri State Child Fatality Review panel. She enjoys educating others about the medical aspects of child abuse and has a strong interest in ways to improve communication and build partnerships among multi-disciplinary team members. She is a member of the Ray E. Helfer Society, an international honorary society of physicians seeking to provide medical leadership regarding prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and research concerning child abuse and neglect. 

Dr. Frazier received the Golden Apple Mercy Mentor award in 2016, 2021, and 2024 from the graduating fellows at Children’s Mercy Hospital. This award is given to faculty members who have significantly contributed to the growth and development of the fellows during their fellowship training. She also received the Leavenworth County Child Advocate of the Year award in 2022 from the Leavenworth Child Advocate Center.
